Tom Dufresne

Tom Dufresne has served on the Board of the Owatonna foundation since 2011.  He is currently President of the Board.  Tom retired in 2020 after 24 years as a Partner with Dufresne, Wayne and Associates, a financial planning practice affiliated with Ameriprise. 

 

During that time, Tom was consistently recognized by Ameriprise as a Circle of Success adviser, an award given annually to the top 10% of their advisers.  Prior to that, Tom was a CPA for PMM in St. Paul and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Kroy Industries in Stillwater, MN.  Tom and his wife Denise moved to Owatonna in 1985.  Tom was CFO at Wenger Corporation and Gopher Sport before starting his financial planning practice in 1996. 

 

He was a founding board member for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota and has served on the board of the ISD 761 Foundation and Steele County United Way.  He is also a member of the Owatonna Rotary.  Tom and Denise are proud parents of three children-Andy, Mark, and Ellen- and enjoy their eight grandchildren.  Their interests include spoiling their grandchildren, travel, and reading.
